Reclaim Your Treasures Teacher: JeaneMargherite We all have old jewelry pieces that are seemingly no longer in fashion, broken, or a single earring that has lost its mate, but we can not seem to bring ourselves to discard. They are pieces that we may no longer believe hold monetary worth, or tarnish has discolored our favorite parts. Perhaps it is a string of beads that were a gift and hold sentimental value, or bits and pieces of chain that you have not tossed out, but you do not know what to do with. In this class we are going to take all those unused, unlikely components and create joy! You will learn many tips and tricks to take those common ingredients and some additional techniques, cold connections and handcrafted clasps to create brand new uncommon treasures that are stylish, fun and earth friendly. You will be able to take your forgotten components and breathe new life back into them to create jewelry you will love to wear and be proud to show off! We are going to explore a wide range of creative ideas, and techniques, we will tap your inner creativity to craft an inspiration of items. We will not be completing the jewelry pieces shown; they are simply an idea of what might be accomplished with various mismatched components. You might create one, or a set to wear together! Tools needed for class, if you have them would be: flat nose pliers (two is better if you have them), round notes pliers, crimping pliers, wire cutters, a small hammer and a metal or wooden bench block. The studio will be able to supply some of the tools, and if necessary we will share any specialty tools to get the work done. Supplies you should bring with you are old jewelry or jewelry parts, watch components, chains, beads, found objects, coins or any other object that you have and would like to employ, even if you are not sure how or if it will work!! There will be some basic supplies offered in class to use as well as many miscellaneous supplies for purchase if you would like to use them in class or purchase them to use after class is over! But the more components you bring with you the more ideas, inspiration and fun you will entice!
