Necklace sizing may be tricky, as everyone is different, and the size of the components on the necklace will slightly alter it as well, but as a general guide here are a few reference charts to help one determine where a necklace is likely to fall on the front of a person’s chest. Please keep in mind that these are based on very general measurements and body sizes. The best way to determine your own neck measurement is to measure around your neck as if wearing a choker; this is generally 12-14″. Using the first chart below you can see where a necklace might lie, beginning with the 12-14″ base measurement. You may approximate from there.
Please remember that we do our best here at Shimmerlings to create beautiful necklaces with most often a extension on it, to accommodate a wide range of preferences. As well we also offer for purchase an extension that can simply be added to any necklace you currently own or may purchase. Jewelry, like people come in a wide range of shapes and sizes, we measure our necklaces from one end to the other; please keep in mind that the size of the beads also factors into how the necklace will fall on the chest.
