What is Shimmerlings?
Our formal name is Shimmerlings, Inc. Jewelry by Margherite Meria.
We like to use "Shimmerlings" to keep it simple.
The jewelry came about with artist Jeane-Margherite about the
age of ten, and each of her years of life help to hone her skills
and style...art is always evolving, it is never stagnant. It is
also very important to our artist, that her works be affordable
fashion. Margherite likes to say "No one should have
to sell a kidney to purchase an original piece of jewelry art".
In that spirit, we work the best we can to keep our pricing affordable

Where did the name "Shimmerlings"
come from?
Read "what
is a shimmerling?" first for a definition of a
Shimmerling...then understand that this beautiful creature and
the loveliness it brings is how Jeane-Margherite feels about each
of her creations. They should accent, adorn and embellish
your body, your spirit and your soul....just as a shimmerling
adorns this realm.

Where can I purchase Shimmerlings Jewelry?
We are currently an online store only,
located in Williams Bay, Wisconsin. Although our merchandise is
sold with a few retailers nationwide, and our artist Jeane-Margherite
does attend various art shows throughout the year, we do not hold
a "Brick & Mortar" storefront.

Do you offer a catalog of merchandise?
Unfortunately, we do not offer retail catalogs for our merchandise
at this time. As well, being that most of our items are truly
one of a kind, a print catalog may not become a true reality
for us.

How long will it take to receive my
order?
All
orders for "in-stock", non custom items received before
12:00 p.m. C.S.T. will be processed within two business days, not
including holidays and weekends. All orders will be given
several delivery options at the time of check out. General delivery
will typically run 5-7 business days from the time of your order.
All our jewelry comes tastefully packaged. Our signature gift
box with wrapping is available at a minimal additional cost.
We offer the following delivery options:
- USPS Priority ($6.00)
- Local Pick Up ($3.00)
Please choose your shipping during checkout and press the "Apply"
button to apply that ship method to your order.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
You may also choose to have your items gift wrapped for a small
price. This is an option on each item page if you would like to
make more than one purchase, but only have one wrapped.
It is also an option during checkout, to "Wrap all my gifts"
with a space to write a note for the recipient as well.

Do you offer free shipping?
Shimmerlings
offers free shipping by Priority USPS on any customer orders within
the United States over $250-with the exception of wholesale orders
and orders over 4lbs.
During
your check out process, if your merchandise total (not including
tax, shipping, wrapping or other additional charges) is $250 or
more, please select "Free Shipping" in the shipping
options, and if your order qualifies, the shipping will be eliminated.
If your order does not qualify, the shipping amount reverts to
our $6.00 Priority USPS shipping fee.
Is it possible to pick up my order?
If
you are in the south eastern area of Wisconsin, and you would
like to avoid shipping charges, you are welcome to come by the
studio to pick up your order for a small fee. Please make arrangements
with our studio before stopping by, either by email : margherite@shimmerlings.com
or phone 262.607.0200.

What payments do you accept?
For
secure online purchase, Shimmerlings currently accepts Visa, MasterCard,
Discover Card, American Express and PayPal. We will also accept
Prepayment by check (items will be shipped at such time as the check
clears our financial institution).
Credit card purchases will appear on your credit card statement
as a charge to "Shimmerlings by Margherite Meria"-or
possibly a shorter variation of such (i.e.: *Shimmerlings by Mar,
or something similar). If you are interested in payment
options other than those listed, please feel free to contact us

Currently
we do not accept purchase orders.

Our Pricing
If it seems on occasion that our pricing
seems unbelievably low, it may be due to the fact that our pricing
is determined by a specific set calculation for cost of materials
and findings, length of time to create and base overhead charge.
In other words if YOU find a great deal on a wonderful piece, it
is because WE found a great deal on materials! When we find
bits and pieces for a wonderful value, we pass that gift on to our
customers reflected in our pricing. So visit often, you never
know what you are going to find!
As well, it is also very important to us
that original wearable art, be affordable and valuable.
Style and fashion should never be a privilege, it is a right of
every person - not the select few. We would like to offer that
style and fashion to everyone through our Shimmerlings.

One of a Kind
Jeane-Margherite and Shimmerlings Jewelry is quite
committed to bringing to the world unique, beautiful, hand crafted
jewelry and gemstone treasures. We create using the highest
quality components that are each hand chosen for their beauty
and durability. Quality, craftsmanship and creating with a consciences
are the hallmarks of our business. It is important to us that
our customers have an understanding of the beliefs that build
their art, and with that in mind, we would like to give you the
following details of our world....
The first is a definition of sorts, as there are
often misconceptions about different terms within the artisan
jewelry business, and the jewelry business as a whole...one of
the most prominent is the phrase is "One-of-a-Kind".
Here at Shimmerlings, when we state that a creation is "one
of a kind" is means just exactly that. It is something
that we have not created before and likely will not be created
again. We believe that this is an important distinction
and it is in fact, how our business began, making one design of
each creation and not another. It is important to us here
that our customers do not walk down the street to see their beautiful
treasure on all the other creative discerning people in town.
Lest it not be a true treasure of your own. Therefore, rest assured
that if an item is noted as 'one of a kind' at Shimmerlings that
there will be no other to be found.
There is another train of thought within our business
that if an item is hand crafted, one at a time, even if it is
designed and recreated over and over, that each finding, and each
gemstone or other piece is unique in it's own way, and that no
two items could possibly be made just exactly the same, (especially
in nature) therefore all hand crafted items are in effect 'one
of a kind'. We do believe this to be true as well, but not
to the point that we would call a piece that has been recreated,
'one of a kind'. If we recreate a design, we will only do
that in a limited manner. This would be the beginning of
our line aptly named "Limited and Numbered". These
are designs that are so popular and/or classic, that it calls
out and demands to be available to more than one customer.
Each piece is in fact hand crafted, so they are all different,
but when we do this, the items will be numbered, and you will
know just how many others there are out there in the big wide
world. Our plan has been to create in batches of 3, 7, 11,
13 or 21...although we have yet to create anything more than three
times, it is our plan to eventually do so. We will simply
see where that road takes us, and note that your "Numbered"
item will come signed and, in deed, numbered. More

Do you have a guarantee?
All of our creations are hand crafted, they
are designed to withstand normal wear. If any of our creations
are found to be defective in creation, please contact us for repair,
replacement or exchange.
If for some reason what you purchase is
not what you expected, please do not hesitate to contact us to
receive a credit or exchange.
Although all sales are final, we are very
interested in keeping our customers happy; so please contact us
if you are not fully satisfied in any way with your purchase.
