Sodalite

Solidarity Stone

Since antiquity the Sodalite stone has been known as the stone of Creatives; such as artists, singers, painters and sculptors as it was believed to be able to encourage inspiration and creativity while also providing the creative receptacle psychic shielding protection from others whom may be intent on stealing those ideas and inspirations.

Sodalite brings inner peace and it told to calm hot tempered folk as well as cooling fevers. Sodalite needs to be used regularly and in abundance for it’s strongest abilities. One should carry or wear Sodalite as well as placing in every room of the home, so that its peaceful properties will flow all around one’s environment on a regular basis.

Sodalite Scientific Properties

SodaliteMohs Hardness of 5.5 with a cubic crystal structure.

Sodalite gains its name from the sodium content found within this mineral.  It is found in many shades of blue, and only blue; it shares many qualities of the stone Lapis Lazuli and it therefore often mistaken for it.  One of the easiest ways to determine the difference is that Sodalite rarely contains the pyrite specks that are present in Lapis Lazuli, giving Lapis it’s sparkle. Sodalite will generally contain white streaks of calcite though, and scientifically Sodalite also possesses a lower specific gravity than Lapis.

he biggest deposits of Sodalite Stone has been found in Brazil; but it has also been discovered in Russia, Greenland, Romania, France, India, Myanmar, Namibia, Canada and the United States.

Sodalite Mystical Properties

Sodalite

It is told that Sodalite will harmonize one’s inner being and balance the conscious with the subconscious mind.  It is said to be most helpful for work in groups as it stimulates creative thought which leads to productive brainstorming and problem solving.  It is also a wonderful stone to combat beeches in communication.

Sodalite is a stone of truth, bringing truth to communication, and allows one to communicate their own truth effectively to the world.  It will aid in ending disagreements and arguments, especially when those divergences are due to miscommunications, or when communication becomes an issue between people.

Particularly useful for honesty of emotions in communication, increasing intelligence, knowledge and learning as it unites the logical and spiritual minds. Intuition opens perception bringing information from the higher mind down to the ground/physical level; affording the opportunity for one to access the sacred universal laws.  Done almost automatically, stimulating thought in the subtle bodies presenting the information in a calm manner allowing the knowledge and emotions to permeate to the core of one’s being; the knowledge comes with very little work to obtain it.
