Gemstone Details
Alexandrite is the color changing cousin of the Chrysoberyl
family. One of the rarest gemstones in the world, alexandrite has the
unique characteristic of appearing green in the daylight and glowing red
in artificial light.
There does not seem to be any writings of
alexandrite in ancient text. It was unknown until 1830 when it seems to
have been discovered on the birthday of Czar Alexander II, thus the stone
was named in his honor.

Scientific Properties:
Mohs Hardness of 8.5 with a orthorhombic crystal structure.A
Chrysoberyl, Clear violet-green, light blue or orange-yellow iridescence.
This stone is extremely rare. Alexandrite changes color with source of
light. That is incandescent light vs. sunlight vs. florescent light.

Alexandrite can
be found in either gemstone or plain crystalline form, but not very
easily. The gem can assist you in death/rebirth situations -- when you are
