Gemstone Details
Morganite was first discovered commingled with other gemstone
minerals, such as Tourmaline and Kunzite, in the early twentieth century
California. This discovering began a bonanza for these popular
gemstones which in turn drew the attention of George Fredrick Kunz.
Knowing that this gemstone would be quite
rare, George Fredrick Kunz suggested, in 1911, that this pink beryl
be named Morganite, after his biggest customer J.P. Morgan of
Tiffany's. Although the stone has held a certain popularity with
Tiffany's it still remains quite a scarce gemstone although not rare.
Other beryls by color are: goshenite (clear),
emerald (green), aquamarine (teal), heliodor (yellow), and bixbite (red).

Scientific Properties:
Mohs Hardness of 7.5 with a hexagonal crystal structure.Morganite
is colored by manganese impurities, the pink, rose, peach and violet varieties
of beryl are all called morganite.
This stone tends to occur as short and stubby (tabular) prisms and is
dichroic, showing either two shade of the body color or one shad and
colorless.
Some of the finest morganite is from Madagascar, Brazil produces pure
pink crystals, as well as some containing aquamarine and morganite in the
same crystal. Other localities include Elba, Italy, Mozambique, Namibia,
Zimbabwe, and it has just recently been discovered in Pakistan.

Mystical
Properties:
Morganite has been known both as a heart stone and an angel stone.
It has been known to bring love to one's life, and also to rekindle old
loves. As it helps to instill and nurture love, it is also told to
help increase patience, and enhance one's communication skills, especially
with one's angels. It is told to bring compassion, empathy, equality
and self control, balancing the emotions and easing the pain of
separation. Morganite is said to be one of the highest frequency
stones available.

Properties:
Physically, the
morganite gemstone is used for healing a wide range of ailments related to
the heart and throat; such as emphysema, tuberculosis, heart disease,
lungs, oxygenation and throat issues.
Some say it is quite

of oxygen to the cells.
