Gemstone Details
This incredibly beautiful and rare stone first arrived on the gemstone
market around September 1996. Quantum-Quattro®
Silica contains bright medium blues, dark
royal blues, dark forest and light greens. It is a combination of
shattuckite (royal blue), chrysocolla (robin's egg blue), dioptase (forest
green), malachite (light green) with smoky quartz all combined in one
swirling mix of colors. This unusual stone is a recent find and found only
in Nambia, Africa. The variety of colors and combinations in each slab is
unending and every piece is different.
This is a powerful healing stone and told
to work at the level of the body's immune system, even as far as the DNA.

Scientific Properties:
Mohs Hardness of 7 with a monoclinic crystal structure.Gem silica
is chrysocolla in quartz, the highest grades are completely embedded in
the quartz so you get a very uniform blue. In most cases, though, there
are other minerals included, often malachite or other blue or green
minerals. That's due to the fact that chrysocolla is a copper mineral, and
so are most other bright blue and bright green minerals.
Quantum Quattro Silica, on the other hand, is a very specific
combination of minerals found only in Namibia, and it has been registered
to one specific company. Therefore it is only commercially available from
one source. Quantum can be considered a type of gem silica,
though, with inclusions of the shattuckite, malachite, and dioptase.
