Scientific Properties:
Mohs Hardness of 2 with a monocliniccrystal structure.

Selenite is a colorless form of gypsum. Selenite, satin spar, desert rose, and gypsum flower are four varieties of the mineral gypsum; all four varieties show obvious crystalline structure. The four "crystalline" varieties of gypsum are sometimes grouped together and called selenite. Also, because gypsum has natural thermal insulating properties, all varieties feel warm to the touch.

Mystical Properties:
Selenite is said to be a powerful crystal of psychic communication. It will aid in interaction with the wise ancestors, angles and spirit guides as well as loved ones. It is said to do this telepathically and through divination, with the cosmic records fo wisdom. It is therefore a stone that should be used by mediums and clairvoyants.

Translucent Selenite has a very fine vibration and shall bring clarity of mind, opeing the crown and higher chakras while accessing angelic consciousness and higher guidance. Pure Selenite is a link to the light body, helping to anchor it in the earth vibration.

It may heal the cells of the body and ensure that the fluid system flows harmoniously, including spinal fluid.
