The effects of Crystals or Gemstone scan be experienced in a variety of ways:

	You can carry the object in your pocket or create a small totem bag you can wear over your heart, or place in your pocket.
	You can wear it as jewelry. A string of gemstones in your ears, around your neck or wrist.
	If you spend a lot of time in your car, hang gems from your rear view mirror.
	Use a gemstone bookmark in books you handle daily. That way the Bookmark is sitting next to you as your read, and you are handling the stones, and they understand what you are trying to do.
	You can choose one special stone each day and wear as a pendant on a chain.
	You can place them in your bath water while you soak.
	You can put them under your pillow while you sleep.
	You can place it on your body, at the Chakra point which that stone affects and you think may be blocked.

We often attempt to select a crystal for its specific healing quality, but most often, what actually happens is that a gem selects us.

As an example, one would think that being an artist, and being surrounded by all the gemstones, crystals and beautiful things, having such a large personality, that a stone I would choose to be my personal item, something as vibrant as a Ruby, or mystical as is an Amethyst, or striking as is an Emerald. The funny thing is that the items I am drawn to are Pearls. It is my favorite jewelry ingredient, they are incredibly beautiful in the depth of their luster, the silken texture of their surface, and the glowing inner light they posses. They are energizing, ancient, soft, and they vibrate with life! I always have some near me, whether in my favorite charm necklace or a pair of earrings.

I keep a bowl of several others that promote relaxation, meditation, and spiritual insight on my night stand. I have a few energizing crystals by my computer, so I don't "lose it" after spending endless hours sitting in front of it. I have creativity gems on my jewelry table. I have a small bowl of Success and Prosperity gems in my entrance. I also have heard wonderful things from a friend who sleeps with a Fluorite healing wand and an Amethyst under her pillow.

What I mean to say is that, often times, the crystal and gems that you in fact need, (the vibrations, the colors, the healing qualities), will lead you to choose a stone you may have never considered before. You may think you would like an Aquamarine, but it may be the Amethyst necklace that draws you to it. My suggestion would be that you go with your feeling. Allow your first impressions to lead you and follow your instincts, this will assuredly guide you to the stones which will be the most beneficial to you.

It is believed that the vibrations crystals give off are translated in our bodies in ways that can be deeply, innately felt, but not verbalized. I think you have to try it to see if it works for you. You have to be open to the experience. That is the most important thing... It is guaranteed if you come into any situation telling yourself that it won't work...it may work for hundreds of other people, but it will never work for you, because you wont allow it to. We are very powerful creatures, and we are creatures of choice. You will in fact get exactly what you expect to find.

I believe that if you are open to the possibilities, you will be very pleasantly surprised. You don't need to be a scholar, or study yoga, or know the Chakra centers in order to have noticeable, meaningful experiences with crystals, stones and gems. You just have to have an open mind, and a willing nature.

Another note about choosing crystals, gems and stones....something that may not be taken very well by others, I believe it is important to inform anyone who is truly interested...

If you are told that one vendor has "healing grade" gems, stones or crystals; or that theirs are more "perfect" in whatever manner to justify their more expensive price tag...please simply consider this person unreliable and look for a more truthful vendor to deal with. They may sound like very viable, justifiable 'reasons' that a more perfect stone carries a more powerful vibration...but...it simply is not true. The reasons are more apparent than you may think..,,

The Universe supports all of the things that it creates and adheres to a few basic rules that have nothing to do with business or commerce of any kind. And the Universe can not break it's own rules, so to speak. Universal Law is the same, in the past, in the future, and in the immediate present. It can not honor a value system that is opposed the the primary purpose or a spiritual principal. In other words, the Universe and Spiritual Law simply does not support that a more "perfect" stone is better.

The Universe supports individuality and unique creation; and thousands of gemstones and crystals have been created continually for thousands of years; they are all created the exact same way, and yet each is completely unique. This is life and universal law at its most wonderful. Just look at the world... each tree although, grown from the same seed of the same parent tree, rooted one right next to another, each will grow into it's own uniquely different and beautiful individual creation. The Universe takes pride in diversity....think snowflakes, leaves, grains of sand. No two are the same...Look at people...do you think the Universe see flaws and imperfections as "damaged" or less powerful. And by who's standards are things considered damaged or perfect?

In keeping with this Universal ideal, why would machine made and ground gemstones that have been manufactured to be exactly the same as one another be more powerful or better than a gemstone that is found from the earth, created by nature, colored by our Higher Power? Spiritual power is NOT more available to people who have more money to spend on the "better" stones. Spiritual leaders for centuries have been of humble lives....Priests, Monks, Gurus, not would have validated this more perfect, more expensive as a better theory.

Tapping into Universal Power comes from an understanding of Universal Law and Spiritual Principles. Expensive stones purchased in a store, in a felt bag command no more power than one you found by accident wrapped in wire and added a silk cord to wear around your neck. You don't need to rely on some kind of expert to help you figure these things out....a bit of research, and trusting in your instincts will lead you exactly where you need to go! All you need to do is BELIEVE...now go choose some stones!
