Symbolizes the Earth, Order and Convention
Folks that prefer the color brown and often more conventional and orderly than the rest, this is not a bad thing. The negative connotations that have been associated with the color brown are repressed personality or laziness. But in general brown is the color of the earth and associated with growth and life.
The color brown, being a mixture of red, blue and yellow can blend into many types of surrounding, and has many shades and tones, each producing a slightly different effect. It can be a very stabilizing color, the red giving it practical energy flow, while the yellow and blue add mental focus energies. It gives a feeling of solidity and allows one to remain in the background, typically unnoticed.

The color brown and its lighter cousins: tan, taupe, beige, and cream make excellent backgrounds helping accompanying colors appear richer and brighter. It is thought to be more casual than black.
