The word “Talisman,” is said to be derived from the Greek “teleo,” meaning primarily, to accomplish, or bring into effect. A Talisman is often an object marked with signs and symbols that is believed to the bearer to have certain powers.
Talismans, Charms, Amulets and most other sacred jewelry items all fall under the heading of “Talisman Jewelry” as a whole. There are a wide variety and reasons as to what makes a piece of jewelry a Talisman for someone. It may be that it is their Zodiac Sign, or an earthly element that calls to them, perhaps is something that has a sacred meaning, or simply an object one holds dear?
