Folks that prefer the color brown and often more conventional and orderly than the rest, this is not a bad thing. The negative connotations that have been associated with the color brown are repressed personality or laziness. But in general brown is the color of the earth and associated with growth and life.

The color brown, being a mixture of red, blue and yellow can blend into many types of surrounding, and has many shades and tones, each producing a slightly different effect. It can be a very stabilizing color, the red giving it practical energy flow, while the yellow and blue add mental focus energies. It gives a feeling of solidity and allows one to remain in the background, typically unnoticed.

The right shades of brown will create a warm, comfortable feeling of wholesomeness, natural and dependable.

Add some brown into your life when you are looking to:

  • create a solid wholesome feeling
  • blend into the background
  • connect with nature, earth and it’s stability
  • regain focus on orderliness and convention

The color brown and its lighter cousins: tan, taupe, beige, and cream make excellent backgrounds helping accompanying colors appear richer and brighter. Use brown to convey a feeling of warmth, honesty, and wholesomeness. Although found in nature year-round, brown is often considered a fall and winter color. It is thought to be more casual than black.

Chakra Association with Brown

Although the color brown is not designated to a specific chakra, it is associated with the 1st, or Root/Base Chakra, which is located at the base of the spine, as brown is associated with the earth. Black and brown gemstones are also included as they connect to the earth to keep you grounded and they do so through the Root Chakra.

Those gemstones would include smoky quartz, onyx, obsidian and tourmaline. Of which only smoky quartz and tourmaline can be brown.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”boxed” background_style=”normal”][vc_column width=”1/6″][vc_column_text]
