Derived from the Persian (or Arabic) word lazhward, which means blue, Lazulite is a relatively rare mineral that is often referred to at the Stone of Heaven; and as a variety of other blue gemstones is said to drawn in pure cosmic energy.
Known to open up one’s intuitive powers, create a serene inner being and to bring about a profound state of meditative bliss. Lazulite promotes cosmic alliance, emotional balance, anchoring one firmly in the divine and promoting inner peace.

Lazulite is known as a solid solution series along with the mineral scorzalite. A solid solution series is a set of minerals (two or more) that have a few common elements that may substitute freely for each other. Within the lazulite (magnesium rich) and scorzalite (iron rich) series, the more rare scozalite does not differ markedly except that it leans to the darker color, less transparent and a bit denser than the lazulite.
Often smaller crystals are more common than massive forms, but viable locations are few and far between. They can however be quite well shaped and show a beautiful monoclinic dipyramidal form.
Lazulite works from within, creating inner harmony by improving emotional, physical and spiritual balance.
